Art Matters

Being a part of the Art Center is being a part of something bigger; my involvement here has an impact on the community I live in.

Art for Kids

Your donation will allow us to provide scholarship funds to low income and at risk children right here in Ann Arbor. For nearly two decades, the Art for Kids scholarship program has allowed us to continue to serve the youth here in Ann Arbor and the surrounding communities.

As you are aware, many obstacles can keep young people from reaching out for and achieving their dreams. In a vibrant, art-filled community like Ann Arbor, we are even further compelled to make our artistic programming available to every child in our community.

Participation in the Arts opens and expands our world, fosters a sense of wonder and excites our senses. Exposing our youth to this not only does wonders for them, but for the communities from which they come.

Carrie Hensel, UM Alum & Owner of Inner Circle Media:
"By making and talking abut art, kids learn to express themselves and see the world around them. And they soon understand that their IMAGINATION and CREATIVITY will help them ACCOMPLISH ANYTHING they set their minds to."

Pamela Cohen, Art Center Jewelry Studio Monitor & Jewelry Artist:
"I believe that everybody needs creativity in their lives- even if the outlet is as quiet as cooking a nice meal, weeding a pretty garden or tying the perfect tie. THE ART CENTER just lets me be loud about it."

James Noellert, Former Youth Student at the Art center & Freelance Illustrator:
"If I had kids I would send them to the Ann Arbor Art Center. I don't know exactly how it works, but we've all got a strong hunch that ARTS EDUCATION is the KEY TO THE FUTURE."
