Art Matters

I haven’t got an artistic bone in my body so it was always fascinating for me to see what the members and students were turning out.  I really enjoyed seeing the educational programs for the little kids, and absolutely believe in the value of the arts for everyone.

An exhibition in Ann Arbor Art Center’s Exhibition Gallery featuring over 75 wall mounted works by Michigan Silversmith Guild Members. Art work will include jewelry, functional objects and non functional objects.

The Michigan Silversmiths Guild (MSG) was founded in 1948. MSG members include craftpersons proficient in the fields of metalsmithing and jewelry, student, teachers, blacksmiths, silversmiths, goldsmiths, metalsmiths, and jewelers. MSG serves to broaden the knowledge of its members' craft and to facilitate communication with other practitioners and the community at large. MSG sponsors lectures and workshops by artists and teachers established in their fields. MSG also sponsors exhibitions and other events that support the guilds mission.
