Art Matters

The first time I ever entered a juried exhibition was at the Art Center in 1979.  As I continue my work as both an artist and a designer at General Motors, I am grateful for the support that this important local institution has had on my life.

64th Annual Exhibition: Traveling Show
Award-winning works showing at the Ann Arbor Art Cente
r
November 8 - December 4, 2011

The Michigan Water Color Society was founded in 1946 by an enthusiastic group of young artists who envisioned an organization to promote the awareness of water color in Michigan. Their aims were to further education, maintain high standards, be based on the premise of integrity and professionalism, and be a forum open to all points of view. The 2011 traveling exhibition consists of 78 works of art from 69 Michigan artists. Artworks were selected and awarded by nationally recognized watercolor artist, Miles G. Batt, Sr, from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. These 30 award-winning works will be showing at the Art Center's Exhibition Gallery until December 4th.  Click here to see Award Winners.
