Dear Parents/Guardians,
We just received notice from the DDA that the Republic Parking Lot behind the Art Center where our normal drop-off and pick-up procedures take place will be closed for the entire first week of camp from June 24 – June 28 for resurfacing.
This will affect our Monday morning check-in, pre & post-camp drop-off and pick-up, regular drop-off and pick-up and Friday Camper Art Show. Please read the following updates:
Monday Morning Check-In:
On Monday morning, park on Ashley Street alongside the parking meters and walk your child up to the back of the Art Center to check-in. (If it rains, check-in will be indoors)
Pre & Post-Camp Drop-Off & Pick-Up
If your child is registered for Pre or Post-Camp Care, as normal, you will need to park and walk into the building to sign them in and out. Just like for Monday morning check-in, you may temporarily park at one of the five parking meters alongside Ashley Street (after the fire hydrant and before you reach the toll both area) that will be bagged to say “No Parking or Reserved Parking”.
If You Are Driving and Need to Drop-Off Your Child Late or Pick-Up Your Child Early
Please follow the same instructions for Pre & Post-Camp Drop-Off and Pick-Up.
Drive Thru Drop-Off and Pick-Up for the Rest of the Week
Beginning Monday afternoon we will be holding our drive-thru camper drop-off and pick-up alongside the metered parking on Ashley Street, between Williams St. and Liberty St.
Regular Drop-Off time is from 8:45am-9:00am
Regular Pick-Up time is from 4:00pm-4:15pm
A staff member with a sign will show you where to pull over and another staff member will then escort campers to or from your car.
Be sure to place your vehicle sign in the passenger side of your windshield so that it is easily visible for both the MORNING Drop-Off & AFTERNOON Pick-up. This helps us to quickly identify camp traffic and wave you over.
If You Are Walking to Drop-Off or Pick-Up Your Child
Nothing changes. As always, you will go to the sign-in/sign-out table on the sidewalk behind the Art Center (or indoors if it’s raining).
There will NOT Be a Camper Art Show on Friday
Due to the limited availability of parking associated with the closure of the back parking lot, we willNOT have a Camper Art Show this week. Drive thru pick-up on Friday will take place alongside the metered parking area during normal pick-up time from 4:00pm-4:15pm. We will send your child home with all of the wonderful projects they created during the camp week.
