ABOUT THE ARTIST

Olivia Guterson (Midnight Olive) is an interdisciplinary artist, born in Gallup, New Mexico, and based in Detroit, Michigan. Deeply influenced by her Jewish and Black heritage, her works are complex in their composition and structure, accentuating the balance of black and white, busy and still, negative and positive, with pattern language as a focal and departure point. The linework is meticulous and instinctive.
