Zentangle Drawings

If you haven’t tried zentangling, it’s a different way of doodling!  All that you will need to start is something to draw with and something to draw on.

Supplies

  • A white sheet of paper
  • I recommend having a wide variety of drawing tools, I am using different drawing pens of varying thickness, sharpie pens, and sharpie markers. You can also make this zentangle as big, or as small as you’d like.

Step 1

First, draw a big shape of your choosing, then divide it into four sections. From there, keep diving the shape up more and more. You’ll want to keep a nice variety of smaller and bigger sections, avoiding making each section the same size.

Step 2

Next, you start filling in each section with its own unique pattern. If you’re stumped on what to doodle, I recommend taking a trip around your house or outside to gather inspiration. I was referencing shapes in my tablecloth and the shadows I saw in my yard for this zentangle.

If you’re quarantining with others, each person can fill in a section, or use a different color, or you can do your design in black and white and color it in once you’re done. It’s great for all ages and abilities.
