Individual Scholarships for Classes and Camps
Camp scholarships are open to youth and teens.
Class scholarships are open to youth, teens, and adults.
Applicants may apply for one class or camp session per year.
Scholarship award amounts may vary.
Multiple family members may apply.
Scholarships are not available for Spring Art Camp.
Scholarship Programs
The A2AC offers a variety of scholarships to individuals for art camps and classes in 2026. View the different scholarship options below.
Ypsilanti Art Camp Scholarship Program
Thanks to generous support from a DEI grant initiative, the Ann Arbor Art Center offers 100% scholarships for one week of art camp to children who live in or attend school in Ypsilanti, MI.
Eligibility
The Ypsilanti Scholarship Program is open to youth and teens ages 5 – 17 years old.
Applicants must reside or attend school in one of the following Ypsilanti zip-codes:

- Applications are due March 15, 2026.
- Applications must be completed by a parent or guardian.
- More than one applicant per family may apply. Please complete one application per camper.
- Youth and teens must be the following ages before or during the camp week they are applying to attend:
- 5-12 years old to attend Creativity Camp
- 13-17 years old to attend Teen Camp
- Scholarships are not available for Clay Camp
- Scholarships are limited.
- Applications are awarded on a first come first served basis.
- The A2AC does not make exceptions to age requirements.
Additional Information
- Camp Hours are 9:00am – 4:00pm
- Drop-off is 8:40am – 9:00am
- Pick-up is 4:00pm – 4:20pm
- We do not currently offer pre or post-camp care
- All students will need to provide their own lunch
- Two snacks will be provided to Ypsi Scholarship recipients.

Art Camp Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is available to youth and teens ages 5-17.
Eligibility
- Applications are due March 15, 2026.
- Youth and teens must be the following ages before or during the camp week they are applying to attend:
- 5-12 years old to attend Creativity Camp
- 13-17 years old to attend Teen Camp
- Scholarships are not available for Clay Camp
- Scholarships are limited.
- Priority goes to students whose families have the greatest financial need.
- Applications must be completed by a parent or guardian.
- More than one applicant per family may apply. Please complete one application per camper.
- The A2AC does not make exceptions to age requirements.

Class Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is available to youth, teens, and adults to be used toward one 8-week class session.
Scholarships for classes will open on February 20th, 2026 at 8:00am
Eligibility
- Applications are due March 13, 2026.
- Class Scholarships are limited.
- Priority goes to students whose families have the greatest financial need.
- Applications for individuals under 18 must be completed by a parent or guardian.
- More than one applicant per family may apply. Please complete one application per student.
- The A2AC does not make exceptions to age requirements.
Additional Information
- Supplies are included for all youth and teen art classes.
- Most 18+ classes require that students provide their own supplies, which scholarship funds do not cover.

To be considered for a scholarship to take a class, you must complete a scholarship application and provide evidence of household income.
Evidence of Income
Instructions on how and where to submit these documents will be listed on the scholarship application. Evidence of income is required once per calendar year.
Applicants will be asked to submit one or more of the following documents with their application:
- W-2 from most recent year
- Employer Pay stubs: two of the most recent
- Documentation of governmental assistance
- Snap benefits letter from food stamp office
- Social Security/ SSDI/ or Pension Report
*Please include evidence of income for anyone in your household that receives income.
*Be sure to blackout any sensitive information, such as social security numbers.
Scholarship Awards
If a scholarship is awarded, it will cover 100% of the cost of a class or camp session.
*Once a student has accepted a scholarship, it is non-transferrable.
When a student withdraws from a class, the scholarship is cancelled and may not be applied to a different term.
Reflections Letter
Scholarship funding is made possible by our generous donors. Upon accepting a scholarship, you agree to submit a letter reflecting on your experience and what you valued or gained from it. This letter is due within two weeks after the end of your class or camp session and will be shared with current and prospective donors.

Terms & Conditions
Scholarship recipients are expected to attend class regularly and submit the Reflections Letter by the due date. Poor attendance, failure to use the scholarship during the term it was issued for, withdrawal from the class, or failure to submit the reflections letter may affect eligibility for future scholarships.
