ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Jesse Kassel is an illustrator and mural painter based in Detroit.
His style features playful blocky shapes with exaggerated form and perspective, often focused on the urban environment. In the dawn of the current mural craze, Kassel found work assisting established artists on large scale projects and managing studio projects with local galleries. After a few years of odds and ends art-related jobs, Kassel has found footing in the freelance world with murals being his primary medium.
Brandon Marshall is currently a Southern-based mural artist with over two decades of experience painting large scale walls.
Having served as U.S. Cultural Ambassador to Nigeria (2018) and Malawi (2024), Brandon has completed over two-hundred mural commissions and has painted murals across five continents.

ABOUT THE MURAL
"Brandon and I have wanted to collaborate for many years; this project has presented us with a huge opportunity to merge our styles and put our heads together on something quite complex.
Our concept utilizes a framework of shapes and icons combined with photorealistic elements inspired by produce, nature, and our own aesthetic discretion. Our goal is to create a functional wayfinding system to guide visitors to the Ann Arbor Farmers market through engaging murals." — Jesse Kassel"For this project, I'm excited to explore the relationship of different layered arrangements between graphic shapes and flat areas of color with thoughtful and intentional areas of realism."
