Michigan Water Color Society

The A2AC Gallery is proud to host the Michigan Water Color Society's 4th Signature Exhibition. Eighty-three exceptional artists have qualified for Signature status by being juried into at least four annual exhibitions over the last ten to twelve years. This exhibition will contain thirty three of the MWCS' Signature artists.

The Signature status was introduced for the first time at the 73rd/74th (2021) Annual exhibition. This exhibition represents some of the best of the best of Michigan Water Color Society. Signature members who also completed a three-year term on the board received a Great Lakes Fellow designation to honor their volunteer service with eight Great Lake Fellows showing in this exhibition.

The Michigan Water Color Society was founded in 1946 by an enthusiastic group of young artists who envisioned an organization to promote the awareness of watercolor in Michigan. Their aim was to further watercolor education, maintain high standards artistically, while based on the premise of integrity and professionalism, and to be a forum open to all points of view.
