About the Exhibition

Wavelengths explore the art and science of color through the lens of 5 artists working in ceramics, neon, letterpress, glass, paper, and textiles. For thousands of years, artists and scientists have sought how the human eye perceives color in the natural world. Each has relied on the other’s experiments, secret knowledge, practices, and documented texts to build on what we know today about how humans see and comprehend color. Wavelengths consider five artists’ use of shape and repetition to create both simple and complex approaches to color.
