A2AC Spotlight Gallery
The Anne & Howard Cooper Spotlight Gallery is a flexible exhibition space on the 2nd floor of the A2AC in the heart of the art education area. The Spotlight gallery showcases artists working in the context of Contemporary Craft as well as painting, printmaking, illustration and collage. Artists from historically marginalized or under-represented communities, such as LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC artists, are encouraged to apply to show calls.
Spotlight Gallery’s call for submissions occur throughout the year through CaFE (Call for Entries). Artists are curated into two-person and conceptually themed small group shows by the A2AC Exhibition Committee, composed of A2AC staff, Board Members, and Washtenaw County-based art leaders and practitioners. Exhibiting artists are often invited to teach guest workshops.
January and October feature group shows by the dynamic art professionals teaching A2AC classes and workshops.
Opening receptions are generally in tandem with the A2AC Main Gallery’s receptions. Exhibiting artists are marketed through the A2AC website, e-newsletter, social media, and press releases.
Stay tuned for a new call for solo and two-person shows opening on September 20, 2023, by joining the Artist Mailing List and see further details on the Artist Opportunities.
