Gather explores the conceptual, structural, and social functions of materiality and space as manifested in contemporary glass design. The work featured in this exhibit was selected to challenge the way we interact with and think about glass forms in terms of both visual culture and tactile experience. For this exhibition, guest currator Herb Babcock, professor emeritus at the College for Creative Studies, has assembled a collection of objects from glass artists whose work centers on the formal and conceptual considerations of functional design and aesthetics.
