Artist statement:

Bogart uses found objects, often architectural elements, furniture or other domestic items, to create work expressing an experience or idea. These are often autobiographical but may be related to as part of the universal human experience. The piece “Sanctuary” connects her family’s experience seeking shelter with extended family where infants slept in cribs made from dresser drawers. The wall pieces are inspired by the drawer pull hardware and by the history of 1000 ACE English sanctuary church door knockers which granted a person sanctuary once they had been touched.
