Ann Arbor Painted 2013

Ann Arbor Painted Exhibition Ann Arbor Art Center

The Ann Arbor Art Center and First Martin Corporation are delighted to announce Ann Arbor Painted, an exhibition of iconic Ann Arbor scenes.

The exhibit features 24 Michigan artists and will be on public display through December 22 at the Art Center. After the public exhibition the works will be installed throughout properties owned by First Martin, a real estate development and management firm.

The artwork is in several media and primarily of a large scale appropriate to corporate settings. Scenes are of classic buildings, events ranging from the Summer Festival to Michigan football, and settings like the Farmer’s Market and Washtenaw Dairy.

The project was coordinated and curated by Marsha Chamberlain, who recently retired as President/CEO of the Art Center. Bill Martin, the founder and president of First Martin, had previously commissioned a series of paintings of Washtenaw County. The new collection expands on that initial commission. “Our company has now been in business for 45 years, and in celebration of that milestone I decided to enlarge our collection,” says Mr. Martin. “We are fortunate to have a very accomplished arts community in the State and supporting it was also part of my goal.”
